Who We Are
We are Teri Fioramonti and Thomas Winslow. We plan and book trips to Italy, the rest of Europe and parts of Southeast Asia, and every recommendation carries a plain label saying how we know it.
We met in Madrid, where we both earned a dual MBA and Master in International Relations at IE University. Between us we have made 18 homes in nine countries, from San Francisco and Lausanne to Hong Kong, Hanoi and Bangkok. Today we live in a stone farmhouse in Abruzzo with 92 olive trees, and we spend most of our working days exploring Italy. It was a long way home.

Since 2011 we have traveled to 52 countries and spent more than 650 nights in palaces and castles, villas and bungalows, yachts and mountain huts, among them 40 days at Six Senses Laamu in the Maldives. The places we would go back to tomorrow include Zannier Phum Baitang in Cambodia, Palazzo Tiglio in Tuscany, the Beau‑Rivage Palace in Lausanne and the Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok. Everything we recommend comes out of that.
Teri
Teri studied economics and worked as a financial analyst at RTI International in North Carolina before living in China and Vietnam. She knows Asia well, especially northern Thailand, Guilin, Luang Prabang and Lombok. She has an eye for understated luxury, natural fabrics, artisan ceramics and vintage jewelry, and a serious interest in wellness and longevity. She looks for private, quiet hotels, such as Zannier Phum Baitang in Cambodia and Palazzo Tiglio in Tuscany, and she checks whether the spa is worth an afternoon.
Her eye is why our plans favor calm rooms, natural materials and days that leave time to rest.

Thomas
Thomas came to hospitality through the kitchen. He started in French restaurants at 16 and trained at Chez Panisse in Berkeley and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. He worked the 2011 harvest at Château Coutet, near Bordeaux, and later represented the château at tastings in New York and London. He studied at the École hôtelière de Lausanne, did an internship in the wine department of Christie’s in Hong Kong, and worked as a hotel sommelier at the Four Seasons in Dubai’s financial center. He holds WSET Level 3. For about five years he was in the Côte d’Or several times a month, and a house in Santenay was his home in Europe.
His background is why we know which tables are worth the drive, which cellars to ask for by name, and what is good rather than merely expensive.

Eighteen homes in nine countries
Between us we have made 18 homes:
- In the United States: San Francisco, Minneapolis, Panama City and Naples in Florida (family homes), Raleigh, and Hyde Park in New York (for the Culinary Institute of America).
- In Europe: Madrid (where we met), Lausanne, Santenay in Burgundy, Paris, Milan, and now our farmhouse in Abruzzo.
- In the Middle East and Asia: Dubai, Hong Kong (for Christie’s), Changchun, Hanoi, Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
The map shows every place we have stayed since 2011. The darker the place, the more nights we spent there, and the gold rings mark the homes.

How we plan
We plan trips for couples and honeymooners, groups of friends, and families traveling across generations. From our home in Abruzzo we spend most of our working days exploring Italy, and we also plan trips across the rest of Europe and parts of Southeast Asia. We recommend and book the hotels, restaurants, cellar visits and drivers, and shape the days in between, always leaving time to rest. How we work explains each step and the four labels we use.
Soon our journal, A Long Way Home, will carry every trip as we take it: where we stayed, what we ate and drank, and what we would tell a friend who asked.
